I’m not smart, but I have good instincts.

I can’t keep up in conversations with academics.

I get what they’re saying, I understand what they’re talking about. I understand their theories and can apply them in real world scenarios. But they speak a different language – one that I can comprehend, but can’t speak. Sometimes I can latch onto to a particular thought and interject a point, but usually they just look at me, pause, and then pick back up where they left off.

I’m ok with this, it doesn’t bother me. I’m a thinker. I figure things out. I’m practical.

How do you feel about that?
